This summer, Eccentric Theater Company brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage in a new 2-week intensive program for young actors and actresses (grades 3-8) to learn all about Musical Theater! All participants will audition, receive a role, and perform in our production of Disney’s Frozen Jr. Below are the required days of commitment to participate in this exciting production! No absences are permitted.

Rehearsals will take place from June 27 - July 8 ( no rehearsals July 2-4). Each day includes one 15-minute snack break.

Registration for our program costs $350 per student, with a special EARLY BIRD rate of $250 now thru March 15! Once you register below, you will receive a contract to sign, including the ability to select your audition time. Auditions are reserved on a rolling basis, so sign up ASAP to confirm your slot!

STAFF BIOGRAPHIES

Christopher Bruno (Director)  is a Musical Theatre and Acting student at Bergen County Academies (Ranked #1 Public Highschool in America - Niche 2021) in the Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts. His teachers are Stephen Kaplan (Award-Winning Playwright, Acting Coach, Stage and Screen Actor, Director, etc.) and Victoria Pero (Professional Voice Actor, Stage and Screen Actor, Director, Costume Designer, etc.). He primarily studies Stanislavski Style Acting, Playwriting, The Alexander Technique for Voice and Speech, Accents and Dialects, Historical Literature and Styles in the Theatre, Makeup for the Stage, Stage Combat, Costume Design, and more. Christopher is also trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern styles of dance under former Assistant Director and Choreographer of The Radio City Christmas Spectacular: Starring the Rockettes, Tim Santos, whom he has also Dance Captained under for years. His dance training also comes from Alina Dronova, a former New York City Ballet company member, and Laurie Crochet, a former Radio City Rockette. In addition to his training, Christopher has Directed, Choreographed, Dance Captained, Costume Liasoned, Costume Designed, and Stage Managed numerous productions across all of Bergen County. Some local theaters include Studio 691 in Wyckoff, Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, Franklin Avenue Middle School in Franklin Lakes, Woodside Avenue Elementary School in Franklin Lakes, and Harrington Park Public School in Harrington Park. Furthermore, at AMDA University in New York City, Christopher was coached by praised Broadway Actress Brigid Brady and took on the leadership role as Dance Captain for their High School Summer Conservatory Performance. He has also worked in countless professional and community productions as an Actor over the course of many years. Christopher is thrilled for the opportunity to Direct Disney’s Frozen Jr. this summer and bring this story “worth melting for” to life!

Maeve McGovern (Choreographer) has been dancing since the age of 2 and is currently on the Studio 691 Dance Company (company member since 2015). Maeve is trained in tap, jazz, modern, ballet, and pointe. When not dancing in Bergen County, Maeve trains at Broadway Dance Center, located in New York City. Maeve first found her love for theatre at age 6 when she was in her first production ever, Cinderella. Other credits include Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins), The Wicked Witch (Wizard of Oz), Brigitta (Sound of Music), Young Elsa (Frozen), and many more! Through Oklahoma City University, Maeve studied under multiple Dance and Performing Arts Professors. Maeve has worked alongside many choreographers, the most influential to her being Tim Santos. Santos was the Assistant Director at The Radio City Christmas Spectacular: Starring the Rockettes. Alongside Santos, Maeve has Dance Captained countless productions. Maeve is currently a junior at Waldwick High School and is excited for the upcoming summer!

Emily Walker (Production Coordinator) is a senior at Bergen County Academies in the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in theatre. She has been studying theatre since the age of 5, studying under Jane Silane and Laurie Crochet, both former Rockettes, and Gwen Potter, a teacher at Broadway Dance Center, and many other experienced and professional dancers. Additionally, she began studying acting at 6 years old in small classes, and in recent years has studied with BCA faculty Victoria Pero in Shakespeare, theatre history, voice and speech, Alexander technique, monologue, and styles. She has also studied at BCA with Stephen Kaplan in directing, scene study, viewpoints, improvisation, and playwriting. Some of her favorite recent credits have included Rosaline in the World Premiere of Rosaline Wrecked It All and Dr. Holofernes in the World Premiere of LLF: Don’t Trust the Boyz The Musical. Last year, she also played Delores Dante in Working and was nominated for the Montclair State University Foxy Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Virtual Musical. This September, Emily began to intern at Arel Studio, one of the companies that make costumes for broadway and professional theaters in New York. As an experienced sewer with 3 years of lessons, she helped with costumes for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, the Mean Girls National Tour, etc. This spring, Emily will be directing her own one-act play at BCA.

Jack Nuciforo (Costume Designer)  is currently studying Theatre and Costume Design at Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, where he takes courses in costume design, set design, fashion, sewing, and more. There he has worked to costume the World Premiere Productions of Rosaline Wrecked It All and LLF: Don’t Trust the Boys. Outside of school, he has costumed Beauty and the Beast at Park Ridge High School and has worked as a Costumer/Stage Manager at Willie Wilson’s Theatre Arts Group on High School Musical and Mamma Mia. Jack cannot wait to help costume and design Disney’s Frozen Jr. this summer!

Terry Thiry (Mentor of Costume Designers): Already an accomplished sewer, Terry began costuming as a volunteer when her daughter showed an interest in theater 25 years ago. That led to her working with The Garage Theatre Group where she became the resident designer for both their youth conservatory and professional companies. More recently she has been the lead costume designer at The Bergen County Academies working on their plays and musicals for the past 15 seasons. Her shows have been nominated for costume design several times by The Montclair State Foxy Theater Awards, Paper Mill Playhouse, and Metropolitan High School Theater Awards. Four shows have walked away with a win; Stage Door, The King and I, Brigadoon, and Once Upon a Mattress. Last year, due to Covid, Terry embarked on the new journey of costuming for virtual productions. Thank goodness live theater is back! Erin Kennedy (Music Supervisor) is passionate about making both classical and contemporary music joyful and accessible for audiences. Her experience in opera, musical theater, choral music, and collaborative piano make her a singer and music director with diverse interests who is at home in and behind the scenes of multiple performance genres. Recently, Erin sang the role of Genovieffa at the Narnia International Vocal Arts Festival in two operas: Suor Angelica and PIETÀ (European premiere), a new companion opera by Jake Landau and conceived by Andrea DelGiudice. Erin is also a collaborator and performer (Lou Salomé) in the development of Nietzsche! The Musical, a new work by Kimerer LaMothe and Geoffrey Gee that premiered at the Fort Salem Theater in Salem, NY this August and is expected to make its NYC debut in 2022. In addition to performing, Erin teaches voice and piano privately in NYC.
